Agrobacterium rhizogenes–induced Altered Morphology and Physiology in Rubber Dandelion after Genetic Transformation

چکیده

Agrobacterium rhizogenes transformation is a more rapid method of obtaining transgenic and edited rubber dandelion ( Taraxacum kok-saghyz ) plants than tumefaciens . The hairy root rol genes are present alongside transgenes after transformation, they change the morphology significantly. Although these useful visual markers indicating successful dandelion, modify phenotype induced by target ultimately detrimental to agronomic traits. Fortunately, can be removed conventional plant breeding because segregate in progeny separately from targeted transgenes. However, it preferable have preliminary identification promising effects or gene edits before removal so that only best used for breeding. Therefore, goal this research was characterize – + that, future, transgene easily distinguished transgene– plants. This requires gene–induced morphological changes simply assayed physiological traits first characterized thoroughly may observed. Taproot formation reduced eliminated genes, -induced roots identifiable grow shallowly potting soil, partial unearthing needed. Both leaf flower numbers increased but leaves flowers smaller wild type with longer stalks. rosette doming caused induction large number primordia obvious rooted as young 1 month old. Photosynthetic rates significantly plants, although growth not. An accurate description A. allow initial selection transformed confirmation polymerase chain reaction, phenotypic comparison expressing gene, those gene.

Agrobacterium-Mediated Genetic Transformation: History and Progress

Agrobacterium tumefaciens is a Gram-negative soil phytopathogenic bacterium that causes the crown gall disease of dicotyledonous plants, which is characterized by a tumorous phenotype. It induces the tumor by transferring a segment of its Ti plasmid DNA (transferred DNA, or T-DNA) into the host genome and genetically transforming the host. One century has past after A. tumefaciens was firstly i...

Genetic transformation of HeLa cells by Agrobacterium.

Agrobacterium tumefaciens is a soil phytopathogen that elicits neoplastic growths on the host plant species. In nature, however, Agrobacterium also may encounter organisms belonging to other kingdoms such as insects and animals that feed on the infected plants. Can Agrobacterium, then, also infect animal cells? Here, we report that Agrobacterium attaches to and genetically transforms several ty...

Genetic Transformation of Oat Mediated by Agrobacterium is enhanced with Sonication and Vacuum Infiltration

Background: Oat (Avena sativa) with high nutritive value and fiber content is used as the main food grain in many countries for human diet as well as animal feed. Recently, it became difficult to transfer new genes through the conventional breeding due to the lack of desirable traits. Objectives: The current study aimed at achieving a st...
